Experience

Creative Arts Team // Oakwood CHURCH // 2015 - Present

Managed a team of  photographers, designers, web developers, and creatives to renovate the website to be more engaging, increase SEO and utilize a user-friendly back end on a tight budget and in a timely manner. 

Worked with staff graphic designer to revamp Oakwood logo and interior spaces.

Shaped and implemented Oakwood’s first satellite worship service to create a worship atmosphere and experience unique to Oakwood and the New Braunfels area. 

Each week I lead a band of volunteer and professional players.

Worship & Arts Pastor // UBC WACO // 2011 - 2015

Spearheaded a redesign of the UBC website to reflect UBC’s commitment to beauty and the arts. 

Directed an all volunteer band and tech team in preparing for and leading worship services and special arts events.

Leader & Songwriter // Gladsome Light // 2011 - Present 

Created a band, The Gladsome Light,  to perform and record original music that reflects the joys, excitement, peace and struggles found in life. 

Created videos, a website and social media campaigns  to engage an audience and expand the reach of the original songwriting and compositions.

Partnered with numerous churches, civic groups, universities and student 

organizations to plan and lead events.  

Original song Take Me Home was recorded by The Digital Age and released 

nationally by a major record label.

Adjunct Instructor // Baylor University // Fall 2010 • Spring 2011

Instructor- American Studies 4385: Special Topics - Civil Rights - Baylor University Department of American Studies. I instructed, lectured, and developed course curriculum for a class in conjunction with Baylor Student Activities Civil Rights Tour alternative spring break. I also graphically designed the course materials and printed goods for the Tour.

Instructor- CCS 1100: Civil Rights and Racial Reconciliation - Baylor University Department of Civic Education and Community Service

Instructor- Journalism 4350: Mass Media and Popular Culture - Baylor University Department of Journalism and Media Arts. I instructed, lectured, and developed course curriculum for a class of 17 undergraduate and graduate students on the role media messaging, memes and pop culture shape our understanding of life in the United States.

Poverty Education - AMERICORPS VISTA // Baylor University // August 2010 - August 2011

Worked to build capacity within the Baylor community to work towards the elimination of poverty through developing educational campaigns, awareness events, and service and learning opportunities.
